Gary Wayne Carey, 60 of Bokchito, OK passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his home. Gary was born on March 24, 1956 in Dallas, TX to Guy and Lorene (Slagle) Carey.

Gary served in the United State Army before moving to Irving, TX. He later moved back to Bryan County about 20 years ago. Gary was a dozer operator and worked at the Blue Bar Deer Ranch. He attended the Robinson Baptist Church in Blue, OK. Gary loved raising dogs and helping out any wild animal that he came across. He also loved fishing in his spare time.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, sister Geneva and two brothers Oliver and Oscar.

Gary is survived by three brothers; John Carey and wife Katherine of Colbert, OK, James Carey and wife Mary Ruth of Irving, TX, and Paul Carey and wife Mary of Houston, TX, sister Betty Bishop and husband Tommy of Durant, OK, half-sister Linda Jo Dean of Dallas, TX, daughter Tracy Turner and husband Mike of Calera, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Family Hour will be Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 6-8:00 PM. Bro. Roger Speers will be officiating with interment at Highland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be T.J. Bishop, Danny Bishop, John Wayne Carey, Kiawa Turner, Jimmy Hicks, and Anthony Carey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Mitchell, Shorty Mitchell, Johnny Teel, and Bobby Green. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made in his name to ASPCA.
