Frederick J. Brannan Jr., a longtime resident of Belmont, MA passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. He was born on October 24, 1931 in Calais, ME. He was the son of the late Frederick J. and Madeline Sullivan Brannan both of Arlington, MA. Fred was a loyal graduate of both St. Sebastian's School (1951) and Boston College (1955). He was married for 54 years to Catherine McDowell Brannan. Employed at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in Boston for many years. Fred also actively participated in civic groups, church and educational organizations. An honorable and respected man both professionally and personally. Fred's legacy will live on within his children and grandchildren. Fred leaves behind his wife Catherine along with his children: Jay Brannan (Michele) of Temecula, CA; Kara Murphy (Louie) of Newport, RI and Kerry Brannan of New York City. Fred had a special love for each of his grandchildren: Connor and Colin Brannan; Louie and Maddie Murphy and Catherine Brannan-Browne. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday December 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Camillus Church, 1175 Concord Turnpike, Arlington, MA. At the request of the family, viewing hours are respectfully omitted. Burial is private.
