Fred J. Via, Jr.73, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on January 2, 2017, at Kindred Transitional and Rehab Center - South Pointe in Indianapolis. He was born on January 11, 1943, in Washington, IN, to Fred Via, Sr. and Clara (Mangin) Via. After completing his education, Fred served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1960 to 1966 before being honorably discharged. After his military service, he was then employed as a Salesman for Cintas until his retirement. He was a loving son, brother, proud veteran, avid golfer and dear friend.Fred is survived by his brother, Joseph Via; and his sister, Susan Nalley (James). In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother; Wilton Via; brother, James Via; sister, Mary Loftus; as well as sister, Alice Benjamin.  Funeral services for Fred will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 12:30 a.m., with visitation from  11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 550 N Rural St, Indianapolis, IN 46201. Graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Fred's name to St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.Arrangements are being handled by Hendryx Mortuaries.
