Frank RoseMarch 18, 1946 - May 31, 2016 Yuma is mourning one of its native sons with the loss of Frank Rose. Frank was born on March 18, 1946. He passed away at his Prescott home this past Memorial Day, May 31, 2016. He was 70 years old. Frank was part of one of the original Yuma Mesa farm families and spent his early years making hay and tending citrus groves.He was a graduate of the Kofa High School class of 1964 and he attended the University of Arizona.Frank loved music, especially country music. He played the guitar and sang. He not only wrote original songs, he wrote poetry. He was a scratch golfer with a single digit handicap for many years and was a long time member of the Yuma Golf and Country Club. He was known around town for wearing his signature cowboy hat while golfing. He brought a smile to anyone he knew with his wit and humor.Frank built a thriving real estate appraisal company which serviced the Yuma area for over 20 years. Additionally, he was a skilled horseman and a former member of the Yuma Sheriff's Posse. He was a familiar site on his favorite horse Chipper in area parades and other Posse functions. He was proud that his horse, Chipper "Chip Gettin' Down to Business" was the grandsire of Go Man Go the world champion Quarter running horse three years in a row. He also loved to socialize and was better than most on the dance floor.Frank was preceded in death by his father, Jack Rose and brother, Eddie Rose. He is survived by his mother, Lupe Rose of Prescott, AZ. His brother, Danny Rose of Yuma, AZ. Two sisters, Helen Rose of Yuma, AZ and Edie Rose Morgan (Steve) of Prescott, AZ. Two daughters, Misty Rose of Yuma and Cameron Grey Rose of New York. Two granddaughters, Meagan and Tyler Rose-Peterson and longtime friend and companion, Sandra Greifenstein all of Yuma, AZ and many loving nieces and nephews.We will gather at Yuma Golf and Country Club Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 10:30 am.
