Frank Benjamin JonesThousand OaksFrank Benjamin "Bus" Jones passed away surrounded by his family on June 19, 2017 in Thousand Oaks, CA due to complications from Pneumonia. He was 92.Frank was born on August 18, 1924 in Anaheim, CA to his parents David and Mary Jones. After the death of his mother in April 1932 he was hospitalized after an auto accident in Dec 1932 and shortly thereafter his father married his nursing aide Leona Pulaski. Frank enlisted in the Navy on May 25, 1942 at the age of 17 serving until October 18, 1945. He first served on the USS Wasmuth (DMS-15) in the Pacific Theater. After his first ship was sunk outside of Dutch Harbor, AK he served on the USS Hopping (DE-155) doing 9 convoy crossings from New York to ports in the UK. After his Honorable discharge from the Navy he worked drilling water and oil wells in CA.His professional working career began at the age of 12 driving trucks from the orange groves to the packing house. He was very active in his church and was a Colporteur for many years. He had a gentle, caring spirit and a strong positive attitude. Throughout his life he became an adopted "father" and "grandfather" to many, especially to his "nino" Cuauhtemoc Zarate.He is preceded in death by his infant son Larry, his brothers David and William and his sisters Bonnie, Diane, Mary Jane and Georgette.Mr. Jones is survived by his wife Connie of 48 years; his daughters Sandy Rivas, Angelica Davila and Lupe Chicas; his sons Frank B. Jones, Jr. and William A. Jones; son-in-law Pedro Davila and Romeo Chicas; grandsons Chris Rivas, Michael Rivas, Pedro Davila Jr. and Romeo Chicas; granddaughters Jazmin Davila, Claire Chicas, Angelic De Sena, Monica Chicas, Kyleen Chicas, and Madeline Chicas; great-granddaughters Kaylen Rivas and Brynna Rivas.
