Contreras, Francisco "Franky" Age 39, of Gilbert, passed away on July 12, 2017. Franky was born on November 28, 1977 and grew up on Mesa, AZ. Franky recently battled a blood infection that left him paralyzed in March and passed away suddenly as a result of a blood clot in brain the past week. Franky was an after-school program leader with the Kyrene School District who was loved by his students and parents alike. He enjoyed playing softball as often as he could and loved to run around with his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed vacationing with his wife in Cozumel, Mexico every summer. He is survived by his wife Mercedes Contreras; brother, Tino Contreras; sister, Karla Contreras; mother Elizabeth Acuña and his father, Abraham Contreras. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 18 from 5pm-8pm (7pm Rosary) at Queen of Heaven Cemetery 1562 E Baseline Rd, Mesa, AZ 85204. Services/Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 19 at 10am at Queen of Peace 141 N Macdonald, Mesa, AZ 85201.
