Harrison, Francis E.Francis E. Harrison passed away peacefully in The Villages, FL, on Thursday, November 17, 2016. He was born on October 7, 1929 in New York City to the late Dr. Francis and Miriam Harrison of Stamford, CT. He lived most of his life and raised his family in Stamford until moving to Fairfax, VA in 1994 for 11 years, and then to The Villages, FL in 2005. Frank attended St. Basil's Preparatory School in Stamford and St. Michael's College in Vermont – where he had looked forward to attending his 65th Reunion in the spring. He worked at Kemper Insurance for most of his career. Frank was an active member of the St. Leo's Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus and a regular usher at Sunday masses. In FL, he was a member of the San Damiano Third Order of Franciscans. Frank devoted a tremendous amount of time to the St. Vincent dePaul Society and Hospice of Marion County visiting with patients in their final hours. Frank was the loving and proud father of seven children, Mary Michel and her husband Thomas of Barrington, IL; Frank Harrison and his wife Mirella of Stamford, CT; Katherine Pelson and her husband Mark of Barrington, RI; Brian Harrison and his wife Cindy of Ashburn, VA; Patricia Brandt and her husband Michael of Wilton, CT; Margaret Santacroce and her husband Thomas of Wilton, CT; and Amy Klimek and her husband Adam of Fairfield, CT. He was the proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Claire Cocklin of Springfield, VA. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Irene (Finneran) Harrison, in 1989.Earlier services were held in The Villages, FL. Additionally, the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1st at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT. A Mass to honor Frank will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2nd at St. Leo's Catholic Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to Hospice of Marion County, 9730 SE 43rd Ct., Belleview, FL 34420.
