Frances Marie Van Scoyk, Monticello, was taken home to be with our Lord on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016.She was born on Nov. 10, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Joseph and Marta (Norell) Stoube. On Sept. 19, 1952, she married Oris Ethan Van Scoyk in Chicago. He preceded her in death July 10, 1983.After graduating high school in Chicago she held several positions as an executive secretary. She worked the longest for the City of Chicago Building Department from which she retired. Fran spent her entire adult life serving the Lord.  She conducted Bible classes at church and also at Monticello Healthcare and Tioga Pines, now Lakeview Village, and her nursing home ministry spanned more than 20 years. Fran served with her husband for many years ministering at the Pacific Garden Mission and other rescue missions in Chicago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monticello and an honorary member of the Monon First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed serving as a Girl Scout Leader for over 20 years. She is survived by her sister,  "Jo" Thomson, Monon; niece, Debbie (John) Steen, Cedar Falls, Iowa;  nephews, Mark (Deanna) Stoube, Davenport, Iowa, Paul Stoube, Andrews, S.C.; seven grandnephews; a great-niece; 10 great-great nieces and nephews; and she is also survived by many other family members including in-laws and nieces and nephews on her late husband's side.Preceding her in death was her brother, Rev. Joseph Stoube.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. celebrating Fran's life on Tuesday at the Monon First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Birch officiating.  The church is located at 408 Arch Street, Monon.She will be laid to rest beside her beloved Oris in Buffalo Cemetery following services at the church.Memorial contributions are suggested and encouraged to the First Baptist Church of Monticello or to the Monon First Baptist Church with envelopes available at the church.Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello is entrusted with care.Messages condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
