Gies, FrancesFrances Catherine Gies, age, 90, of Berlin, passed away peacefully surrounded with the love of her family on August 16, 2017 at Patriot Place of Berlin.Frances was born on February 5, 1927, in Belvidere, Illinois to George and Beatrice (Wilber) Torman.In 1946, she married Delbert Gies at St. Mary's Church of Woodstock Illinois. Frances was an adjuster for surveying instruments for Realist for 23 years, retiring in 1988.She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, (especially in their converted for camping International Harvester bus) word search puzzles, crosswords, and crocheting projects.Frances is a member of All Saints Catholic Parish of Berlin, former member of St. Peter & Paul Parish, Weyauwega (1966-2009), where she was Eucharist Minister, St. Ann's Guild member, a volunteer at St. Vincent's thrift store, a member of the Jack Pin Gypsies Camping group, Red Hatter's of Weyauwega, and always enjoyed going to lunch and taking trips with her lady friends.She is survived by her children, Ruthann (David) Howard of Green Lake, Rosemary (Gerald) Jodarski of Berlin, Anita (Jerry) Marks of Osceola, John (Christine) Gies of Redgranite; brothers, George (Mary) Toman of West Virginia, Donald of Union Illinois; brother in law, James (Margaret) Gies of Whitewater; sister in law, Jane Gies of Berlin; grandchildren, Jeffery (Kim) Jodarski, Gregory (Katarina) Jodarski, Brian (Heidi) Marks, Angela (Terry) Schutt, James (Stephanie) Howard, Beverly (Matt) Schroeder, Jacob (Special Friend Christina) Gies, Damian (Larraine) Gies, and twenty great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Beatrice Torman; husband, Delbert Gies; a brother and sister in law, William (Jeanette) Torman; a sister in law, Margaret "Peggy" Gies; and a brother in law William Gies.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church of Berlin with Father David Greenfield officiating.
