Flora L. Martinez Our beloved mother Flora L. Martinez was reunited with our father Ernest I. Martinez in heaven on Nov. 6, 2015. She was born on Sept. 14, 1930 to Gregorio and Luz DeTevis Lopez in Las Vegas.Flora worked all her life starting at the age of 16 waitressing at the 85 Coffee Shop and the Plaza Café. Later on she worked in the cafeteria at the NMBHI where she met our father who was an electrician there. They were united in marriage on Oct. 8, 1960.They moved to Albuquerque and Flora stayed home with her kids until they started school. She started working for Blake's Lotaburger in 1968 and stayed with the company until 1994. When Lotaburger expanded into Las Vegas in 1976, she moved her family back home. When she retired from Lotaburger, she became the hostess at the Spic and Span Café, and eventually ended up at Walmart where she was a door greeter for 15 years, retiring at age 83.She is preceded in death by both her parents; her husband: Ernie; brothers: Joe Lopez and George Lopez; and sisters: Mary Abeyta, Helen Abeyta, and Clorinda Nickelson.She is survived by her daughter: Patricia and son-in-law: Phillip Segura; son: Larry and daughter-in-law, Betty Martinez, of Albuquerque; her grandsons: Phillip (Veronica), Patrick, Paul (Jamie) Segura, Steven and Loren Martinez; great-grandsons: Isaac and Ryan Quintana (mother: Crystal Quintana), Ezekiel and Zachary Segura. Other survivors include brother: Gilbert Lopez; nieces and nephews: Bella Gutierrez, Eloy (Julia) Abeyta, Josephine Lujan, Margie Gonzales, and Henry (Evelyn) Abeyta, and Paula Williams.Rosary devotional services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Friday also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
