Evelyn R. Hines, 87, Monticello, passed away at 6:45 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at the Indiana University Health Arnett Hospital of Lafayette.She was born on March 12, 1929, in Reynolds to the late Henry H. and Dade (Hamm) Lawson. On Oct. 5, 1947, in Reynolds, she married T. Eugene "Gene" Hines; he passed away on Aug. 24, 2005. Evelyn had lived in the Monticello area most all her life.She had been in failing health for the last several years. Evelyn had worked for several years and retired from the old White County Memorial Hospital of Monticello.She was a member of the Guernsey Church of the Brethren of rural Monticello.Surviving is daughter, Sue Bunch, Fort Wayne; sons, Gary Hines, Indianapolis, and Tim (Kathy) Hines, Hanahan, S.C.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Lowring, Monticello; brother, Richard "Dick" (Carolyn) Lawson, Delphi; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.Evelyn was preceded in death by son, Ronald L. "Ron" Hines; daughter-in-law, Wendy Hines; sister, Edith Byroad; brother, William Lawson; and one granddaughter.Visitation will be from noon – 2 p.m. Saturday at the Miller-Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. Celebration of Life Service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F.
