Osswald, EvaEva M. Osswald, 96, Birnamwood, died on Saturday, September 02, 2017 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born on February 24, 1921 in Eden, WI, the daughter of the late Anton and Stella (Fleming) Bruger.Eva was united in marriage to Raymond Matzke on June 4, 1947. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1957. She then married Robert Osswald on August 10, 1963. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1996.Eva was a cook at the Birnamwood School and also worked at the former American Can Company. She was a faithful member of St. Philomena Catholic Church, Birnamwood and its Altar Society. Eva enjoyed socializing, playing cards, baking and square dancing in her younger years. Survivors include a son, Robert Matzke of Madison; daughter, Helen (Robert Martin) Matzke of Corvallis, OR; three grandchildren, Sarah (Jason Reed) Martin, Amanda (Cory) Kissinger and Luke (Cary) Martin; five great-grandchildren, Landon Reed, McKayla Reed, Owen Martin, Calvin Martin and Miles Kissinger.Eva was preceded in death by her husbands, parents and one brother Harold Bruger.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Birnamwood. Fr. Charles Hoffmann will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Cemetery, Birnamwood.
