BURLINGTON - Eugene F. Hoppe, Age 84, of Burlington, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington. He was born on January 12, 1927 in Burlington, to the late Louis and Florence (nee Brooks) Hoppe. Eugene spent his early life in Waterford and Union Grove and was a graduate of Union Grove High School. Eugene had proudly served in the United States Marines during WWII. On September 17, 1955 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Eugene was united in marriage to Jeanne I. Delaney. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. Eugene had worked for UPS for 32 years and Miller Motors for 22 years. He loved his job. He enjoyed working in his yard and was an avid Packer fan. Eugene was a proud grandfather and loved his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife, Jeanne, their son, Daniel L. (Stephanie Ashley) Hoppe of Eagle, grandsons; Douglas Hoppe and Michael and Karl Ruschman, sister, Eileen Curtis and by a sister-in-law, Jane Delaney. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law; Bob Curtis, Dan Delaney and Pat Delaney. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Debski officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday, from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at So. Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 9:00 AM. Memorials have been suggested to any Veterans group of your choice.
