Beck, Esther Twila (Frye) 88, went to be with her Lord on April 9, 2016, in Wichita, KS. Twila was born on June 28, 1927, in Sheridan County, KS to John and Jeanettie Frye. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1946 and went on to attend Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, IL in the 1948-1949 school years. She married Joseph Francis Beck on September 21, 1952 in Hutchinson, KS. For over 21 years, she was employed as an administrative secretary at Dodge City Community College, retiring in 1991. Twila was active in her local church, serving in many capacities over the years. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed quilting and embroidery. She is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Saundra and Steve Rogers of Wichita, KS, Barbara and Dave Childers of Oskaloosa, IA, and Shirley and Phil Newlin of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren, Alyssa (Derek Tucker) Rogers of Kansas City, KS, Joshua (Emily) Childers of Olathe, KS, Amanda (Taylor) McMillin of Wichita, KS, Julie Childers of Olathe, KS, Eric (Leslie) Newlin of Olathe, KS, Andrew Newlin of Anderson, IN; two great-grandchildren, Brooks and Camille Childers of Olathe, KS; one brother, Calvin (Glenna) Frye of Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Nola Schott of Hutchinson, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Milton; sister, Geraldine; husband, Joe Beck. Memorials can be made to Wichita First Church of the Nazarene, Early Childhood Ministry, 1400 E. Kellogg Dr., Wichita, KS 67211. The service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 15, 2016, at First Church of the Nazarene with visitation at the church one hour preceding the service.
