Ester Cava StanleyOxnard, CAEster Cava Stanley passed away at home surrounded by family on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the age of 59.She was born on Nov. 12, 1957 in Iba Zambales, Philippines, and was one of 14 children born to Modesto Cava and Rafaela Diez Cava. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Art Stanley and their children Veronica Maciejewski (Bart); Jodi Limon (Michael); Eric Lee Barber (Britney); and Neil Stanley (Nicole). Art and Ester have seven grandchildren: Trent Tagudin, Izebella Palmer, Luukas Stanley, Jacob Lee Barber, Hailee Stanley, Arianna Maciejewski, and Emerald Limon. Arianna nicknamed her "Mimi" and Jacob Lee called her "Lola." She is also survived by her sisters Nora Yeomans (Glen) and Mila Cannon, as well as other family members in the Philippines. Ester loved cooking and her Filipino dishes were the absolute best. She was a master scrabble player who loved to beat everyone! She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends who enjoyed watching her win. She would gather everyone at her home to root for her favorite boxer Manny Pacquiao! Her humor and laughter were contagious, and her love and care towards others was endless. She was never a selfish woman and would always cook twice as much food so that her guests had food to take home. And when you came to visit her, she made it a point to prepare your favorite meal!Ester loved fashion and she very much enjoyed dressing up for parties. She never left the house without wearing lipstick, a pair of earrings, a necklace, and her rings (even if she was just wearing sweats). She had a fondness towards camping and her and her husband were constantly taking their motorhome traveling. They would especially head to Morro Bay or any place where there was a casino nearby! Art and Ester's home has been the center of the annual Thanksgiving cul-de-sac party and many weekend get-togethers. Their neighbors became family and they will miss her dearly. Ester fancied spoiling their Pomeranian Gus who treasured her especially when she said "Gus, do you want to take a bath?" She was passionate in giving to others without a thought for herself, and this is a trait that only the most loving humble person carries. Her family will continue her legacy and hold a Celebration of Life Memorial to honor her.
