Estella Mitchell was born on March 4, 1926, to the union of Dennis and Sarah  Jones, in Belzoni, Mississippi. Both parents and her sister, Ruthie Mae Perkins and her Daughter Geraldine Mitchell preceded her in death. 

She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. 

Stella, as she was fondly known, moved to Rockford, Illinois where she met and married Tommie Lee Mitchell in November of 1947. She was the mother of 7 children. Later moved to Chicago, Illinois.

Stella departed this life on Monday, February 28, 2019, at home after a very short illness.

She leaves to cherish her memories; her sons David and Ephraim and Tommie Jr. and her daughter Aletha Mitchell all of Chicago, Illinois; Her grandchildren Lawanda Vance and Ayesha Mitchell all of Milwaukee Wisconsin and Shana Starks of Phenix City, Alabama and her grandsons Jaylon Mitchell and Derrick Mitchell, Terry, Chancey, Jeremy all of Chicago, Illinois; and  a host of Nieces and Nephews, and other relatives and friends.
