Ernest "Bernie" Elkins PORTAGE, IN - Ernest "Bernie" Elkins, age 68, of Portage, IN, passed away on August 5, 2017. He was born on January 12, 1949 in Shelby. He is survived by his wife Gladys; daughter, Michelle (Glenn) Klimasara; grandchildren, Alysa, Logan and Kayla Klimasara, brother, Kyle (Kathy) Elkins; sister, Lavada (Wayne) Coke and numerous nieces and nephews. Bernie was a retired Pipefitter for the Local 597 where he was certified legendary status. He was loved by all but especially by his grandchildren and they will truly miss him. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday August 9, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at EDMONDS & EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368 with Pastor Forrest Ash officiating.
