Encarnacion Martinez, 92, a pioneer resident of Rociada, passed away at her home on Saturday surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose H. Martinez; her parents, Juan Jose Maestas and Marina Arguello and her two brothers, Lucas and Jose Dolores Maestas. She is survived by three daughters, Dorothy and Flora Martinez of Rociada, and Anna Bertha Martinez and husband, David, of Santa Fe; one son, Antonio (Anthony) Martinez of Santa Fe; a brother, A.R. Gonzales and wife, Joanne, of Boise, Idaho; two grandchildren, Gabriella and Alisha both of Santa Fe; and a sister-in-law, Ida Martinez of Rociada. She was raised by Lucinda and Anastacia Gonzales.She was born on Aug. 28, 1921 in Rociada and was a member of the San Jose Church in Upper Rociada. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this afternoon at 2 p.m. (Wednesday) from Our Lady of Sorrows Church. The interment will follow in the San Jose Cemetery in Upper Rociada with the following serving as casket bearers: Joe Pete Martinez, Ted Martinez, Jerry Garcia, Gabriella Martinez, Corina Madrigal and Jose Maestas Jr. Honorary bearers will be: Michael Garcia and Ruben Madrigal.
