JeffersonvilleFreeborn, Elva "Jean",Funeral services for Elva "Jean" Freeborn, 91, of Jeffersonville, IN, will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3-8 PM and after 9 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home. She passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. Jean was born on January 28, 1926 in Jamestown, KY, to the late Fred and Mary Knight. She was a homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Milton Freeborn; four brothers, Deward, Buford, Troy, and Charles Knight.She is survived by her two daughters, Beverly Mayden and her husband Jim; Barbara Gray and her husband Jim; three siblings, J.P. Knight and his wife Barbara; Murrell Knight and his wife Ella; Barbara Wilson; four grandchildren, Alissa Shelton and her husband Jamie; Todd Mayden; Christopher Gray; Aaron Gray and his wife Hannah; and two great grandchildren, Alayna and Callan Shelton.
