This obituary is administered by:
Elspeth Brown Webster, age 82, passed away at her Yuma home on June 2, 2009. Ellie, as she was affectionately known, was a snowbird who spent the winters in Yuma, and summers at her home on the Yakima River, near Cle Elum Washington. Ellie was born on December 3,1926, in Jolliette, North Dakota to Raymond and Hilda Emerson. Ellie had two sisters, Marjorie and Virginia and when the girls were small, the family moved to Seattle, Washington. Ellie attended Lincoln High School, graduating in 1943, and moved to New York City where she had various adventures and jobs, one being a model for Saks 5th Avenue. Returning to Seattle the following year, Ellie worked and eventually met William F. Brown, whom she married in 1946. Ellie and William moved to Oregon where they raised a family. Bill worked as a truck driver. After the kids were grown, they sold Bill's business and became snowbirds, traveling in their RV, and eventually purchasing a home in Yuma. After Bill's death in 1993, Elspeth met and married Daniel Webster. They had five wonderful years together before he passed away in 1999. Elspeth is survived by her loving companion, Marcel Leroux of Yuma; her children, Wendy Seiden of Bend, Oregon, Leslie (David) Wood of Oregon City, Oregon, Steve (Diane) Brown of Cathedral City, California; grandchildren Leif Larson, Alex Nuttycombe of Boise, Idaho, Rachel and Ryan Wood of Eugene, Oregon; sister Virginia Rogers of Cle Elum, Washington. Elspeth was preceded in death by her son, David Scott Brown and her sister, Marjorie Filapelli. Elspeth loved life, traveling, entertaining her many friends, and working in her garden. She also enjoyed dancing, especially to Big Band music, impressing all who observed her and her husband. Most of all, she cherished her beloved family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. There will be a celebration of her life this summer at her home in Washington.
