Ellen Mae Robertson ThomasSHREVEPORT, LA - Service for Ellen Mae Robertson Thomas, 89, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Rose-Neath Coushatta Chapel, Coushatta, LA. Officiating will be Bro. James Hester and Bro. Rick McDonald. Interment will follow at Thomas Wren Cemetery, Coushatta, LA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 at the funeral home.Ellen was born on March 9, 1928, in Red River Parish, LA to Lavanna Francis and Jackson K. Robertson and passed away March 20, 2017 in Marshall, TX. She graduated from Martin High School, and Monroe of School of Business. Ellen married William Olan Thomas January 22, 1948. She lived her life doing what she loved, cooking, and most of all caring for her loved ones. Ellen retired from Caddo Parish food service after 33 years of service, and was the cafeteria manager/director. She also worked in nursing homes for several years. Ellen lived in Shreveport, LA for over 45 years.Preceding Ellen in death were her parents, and other family members. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 69 years, William Olan Thomas; sister, Ethel Nelson; son, Skip Thomas and wife, Letha; two grandchildren; three step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Honoring Ellen as pallbearers will be Charles Ray Cannon, Bobby Cannon, Mike Coffee, Jack Nelson, Larry Rigdon, and Linn Robertson.
