Raine, Eleanor J.Eleanor J. Raine, age 90, of Neillsville, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at her residence. She was born on February 8, 1926 in Neillsville, to the late Frank and Emma (Karger) Kren. She was the youngest of seven children. She was a lifelong resident of Neillsville, where she married Darrel "Digger" Raine on February 19, 1944. Eleanor worked at the Schultz Brothers Store for many years, as well as the Farmer's Store and the A&P Store. She volunteered her time working for several organizations, including Life Line, Blood Mobile, teaching Sunday school at UCC, working at City Hall during elections and volunteering at the hospital.She is survived by her ten children: Diane (Terry) Killham of Munford, Tennessee, John (Carolyn) Raine of Marshfield, James (Beverly) Raine of Neillsville, Ellen (Michael) Artac of Willard, Carol (Eugene) Opelt, Candace (Kenneth) Marg, Joel (Marla) Raine, Emile (Daniel) Miller and Jeff Raine, all of Neillsville, and Brenda (Mark) Wilson of Marshfield; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Sager of California; and a sister-in-law, Lois Kren of Neillsville.She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandchild, three great-grandchildren, four brothers and one sister.At Darrel and Eleanor's request, no services will be held. A private burial will take place at the Neillsville Cemetery, at a later date.The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is assisting the family.
