Elaine HuntLaingsburgFrieda "Elaine" Hunt Frieda (Coleman) Hunt (known to family and friends as Elaine), of Laingsburg passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 surrounded by her family.   Our beloved mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother was born on August 26, 1926 to Leroy and Lela Coleman.  On May 26, 1945, Elaine married the love of her life, Manley L. Hunt, at her family home in Laingsburg where they spent their entire married life of 63 years.  Elaine was a graduate of Laingsburg High School and attended the Michigan Agricultural College.  She was very artistic and excelled at painting, sewing, and gardening.  Elaine was an active member of the Laingsburg United Methodist Church and she worked diligently on the farm and as the Assistant Township Clerk for Victor Township. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her one brother, Hubert Coleman, and her son-in-law, Roland R. Gurk.  She is survived by three daughters, Dianne Gurk, Emilee Hunt, and Faye (Gerald) Ruhno; 7 grandchildren, Chris (Christy), Matthew, and Susan Gurk, Amanda (Brent) Rowland, and Courtney Ruhno; and 3 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Seth, and Lily Gurk. Funeral services are planned for Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Laingsburg United Methodist Church with Brian West officiating.  Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m..  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Laingsburg United Methodist Church.
