Oryall, Elaine D. (Van Hoof)Elaine D. (Van Hoof) Oryall, 88, Howard, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017. She was born on January 6, 1929, to the late William and Alvera (Roskom) Van Hoof. Through the help of Bill Vickery and singing with the Claude Le Duc Orchestra, Elaine earned her tuition and graduated from Green Bay West High School, Class of 1947.She was hardworking, both at home and outside the home being the first "Avon Lady" in Howard. Without a driver's license, Elaine walked her territory, delivering her orders with our wagon. She worked in banking, in the Howard-Suamico School District and at Van's Greenhouse, which she greatly enjoyed.Elaine was an avid hand quilter and gardener. She loved bird watching, and especially enjoyed evening visits with the neighbors and Sunday dinner with "the kids".She is survived by two daughters, Faye Oryall, De Pere, and Kathleen "Cookie" Oryall, Howard, Mary Vandermause, Howard; a sister-in-law, Yonny Van Hoof, North Bend, OR; a special cousin, "other sister", Ginny (Dick) Lemmens, Howard; and a special niece, Mary Kluth, Las Vegas, NV. Elaine is also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Donna Oryall, Howard; sister-in-law, Betty Oryall, Santa Maria, CA; and nieces and nephews.Elaine was preceded in death by Elmer J. Oryall; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Raymond Gillis, Howard; brother, Ralph Van Hoof, North Bend, OR. She was further preceded in death by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Erma and Ed Statz, Green Bay; Bernie and Warren Wilson, Medford, WI; Sister Alfreda Oryall, O.S.F., Green Bay; Theola and Lawrence Van Hemelryk, Green Bay; Orland Oryall, Santa Maria, CA.Friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave. (one quarter mile east of the corner of Cardinal Ln. and Glendale Ave.), from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, February 6.
