Edwina James PinnellMemphis, TNEdwina James Pinnell, 95, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 27th 2016.She was born on November 20, 1921 in Kerrville, TN to the late Benjamin and Jimmie Sarrat James.Ms. Pinnell was a charter member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church in Memphis, TN. She served as a president of the Madonna Class, and was member of the Joy Circle. She loved serving the Lord and loved her church family and friends. After retiring from Memphis Light Gas and Water with 35 years of service, where she worked as a supervisor in the Gas division, she traveled with family and friends. Ms. Pinnell was a devoted wife, loving mother, a caring sister and a friend to everyone who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Sherman Pinnell, her son Danny Pinnell and her sister Carolyn Pullen.She is survived by her two sisters, Kathryn Fillman of Houston, TX and Peggy James of Memphis, TN , her nephew Stan Pullen(Gina) of Oak Ridge, N.C. and nephews and nieces. She also leaves her dear friends, Charles and Angela Russell and their family of Memphis, TN. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 4th, 2017 at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Stephens Methodist Church, 3981 Macon Rd. Memphis, TN. The family would like to thank her caregivers and nurses who loved her at Carriage Court of Memphis, where she lived for the past 10 years.
