Mr. Edward Wascom, Jr., 57 years old, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016, at North Oaks Medical Center. He was born on Monday, August 17, 1959, in Covington, Louisiana to Margaret Duaphine Gomez Wascom and the late Edward "Dolly" Wascom Sr. He was a dedicated employee for 28 years at North Oaks Medical Center where he held the position of Construction Manager. He had a special passion for his family and friends and especially loved being "Pappy" to his granddaughter Chloe. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time at his camp on Bedico Creek. He was an avid LSU sports fan and loved his black lab, Sambeaux. Surviving are his mother, Margaret Dauphine Gomez Wascom, son & daughter-in-law, Chad and Angelica S. Wascom, daughter, Blair Rene' Wascom, granddaughter, Chloe Ann Wascom, sister, Kandy W. Berner, life partner, Lisa K. Bovia, special niece, Megen Berner, and numerous other nieces, nephews and other family. Friends will be received on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Celebration of his Life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, beginning at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the North Oaks Hospice.
