Edward Reichebach Obituary

Jun 07, 1940 - Nov 01, 2016

This obituary is administered by:

Edward Millis Reichenbach II, 76, formerly of Rexburg (Archer), passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2016, in Farmington, New Mexico. Ed was born on June 7, 1940 in the city of Orange, Orange County, California to Edward M. Reichenbach and Dolly J. Alvord. He attended Los Angeles High School in Los Angeles, California.

Ed joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints while in high school and later met his wife of 51 years, Norlene Anderson, during a blind date, attending a fireside on the topic of "Marriage". They were married nine months later on March 3, 1963, in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Together, they served two LDS Humanitarian and Service Missions and Ed particularly loved their time serving those persons in a Church-based addiction recovery program.

Ed faithfully served in many church callings, and loved his Scoutmaster-related callings, especially Scoutmaster to a troop of disabled scouts, and as a 10 year-old Primary Teacher. He was an ardent supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and diligently served in a wide variety of local and regional scouting leadership positions in California and Idaho and thoroughly enjoyed teaching outdoor cooking and his "mountain man" skills.

He worked as an electrician at Ricks College and developed a specialty of servicing the elevators of the College, having worked there for 30 years at his retirement in 2001. Ed enjoyed many hobbies and loved inventing and learning new things, teaching himself an abundance of technical skills in metal work, carpentry, stained glass, photography, videography, electronics, and genealogy. Ed's love of learning caused him to audit countless courses on every conceivable topic at Ricks College, just to satisfy his thirst for knowledge.

Ed is survived by his two daughters, Tonya McPheeters (Keith), and Tara Hansen (Korey), and 17 grandchildren, Morgan, Jordan, Taylor, and Connor McPheeters; Todd, Andrew, Devon and Miles May; Ashly May-Maselter; Kaitlin, Haiden, Lauren, Dylan, Hallie, and Rylie Hansen; and, Emilee and Edward Reichenbach; and five great-grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Norlene, and son, Todd Edward.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at the Archer LDS Chapel (201 West 800 South) . There will be a viewing for family and friends that morning from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., at the church, prior to the funeral services. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home.

Condolences may be sent online to the family at www.flammfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America in Ed's name.
