Edward Joseph Golden, IIIHOPEWELL JUNCTION - Edward Joseph Golden, III, 51, passed away at his home on August 25, 2017 after a heroic battle with cancer.Ed was born on May 30, 1966 in Sleepy Hollow. He grew up attending St. Augustine School and Ossining High School. On October 2, 1994, Ed married his true companion, Marianna. Together they built a beautiful life and had three wonderful children, EJ, Matt and Robert. Ed was a family man. His family was his number one priority and came first in every sense of the word. Ed's most treasured moments were spent with his family on Diamond Beach in Wildwood Crest, NJ. Ed was an active parishioner of St. Columba Church as well as a very involved member of the community. Ed was a coach in East Fishkill for 15 years. He coached soccer, basketball and baseball. He will forever be remembered for his patience and dedication to every player he coached. Ed changed careers later in life, and began working for Central Hudson in 2005. Ed was a member of Local 320. Ed loved his job and loved the people he worked with. Ed's family is forever grateful for all the support provided by Ed's coworkers and company. At the time of his death, Ed was class one lineman for Central Hudson. In addition to his wife and children, Ed is survived by his mother, Marilyn; his sisters Lisa (Bruce) McCoy, Kelly Golden; his father-in-law, Joseph Battista; his brother-in-law, Angelo (Lesley) Battista; his nieces and nephew, Logan, Brenna, Rosanne and Marissa; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ed was predeceased by his father, Edward Joseph Golden, Jr. in 1991 and his mother-in-law, Lidia Battista in 2015.Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 10 am at St. Columba Church followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
