EDMOND C. JOHNSON, SR. A funeral for Edmond Johnson, 86, of Chico, will be held on Saturday November 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints 1450 E. Lassen Ave in Chico. He passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on November 4, 2017. Edmond was born on August 16, 1931 in Chico, Ca. to Henry G. and Ruth Johnson. He graduated from Chico High and was later in the U.S. Army and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Edmond was an Owner/ Operator of Butte County Disposal for 50 years. Edmond enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing. He loved mining. He and his twin brother Elmer mined the Silver King and Queen mines in the High Lakes area. The twins were also inven-tors. After the Army, he married Pauline Williams and started Butte County Disposal. In 1972, he married Juli Hubb. Together with his wife and family, they continued building the business until 1996. After retiring, Edmond continued starting small businesses. He is survived by his wife Juli of 45 years. 3 sons, Ed Johnson Jr. and Wes Johnson both of Chico, Henry Johnson of Forest Ranch, 2 daughters Grace Johnson of Chico and Mary Sutterfield of Arkansas. 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
