Drufke, Edith Elizabeth Drone, R.N.,91, of Louisville, passed away September 22, 2017 at The Forum Nursing Home in Louisville, Kentucky. Edith was born on January 7, 1926 in Ridgway, Illinois to the late Cleveland and Annie Drone. Edith devoted her entire life to giving unselfishly to her family, friends, and patients. As a registered nurse (plus 50 years), she cared for each patient with kindness and professionalism. She enjoyed the company of her many friends at the Senior Citizens Center where she volunteered in Jeffersontown, and all of her "lady" friends with whom she enjoyed playing bridge and sharing conversations.Edith is survived by her husband of 71 years, August Albert Drufke, her children: Augie Cleveland Drufke (Nancy) Winston-Salem, NC, Melanie Owen (John) Noblesville, IN; four grandchildren: August Alden Drufke (Andrea) Boston, MA; Adam Albert Drufke, Cary NC; Jonathan Owen (Theresa) Greenwood, IN; and Emily Drabyn (Christopher) Brownsburg, IN; and five great-grandchildren: Jackson August Drufke, Jacob and Catherine Owen, Annalise and Nathaniel Drabyn.Edith is also survived by Bonnie Staples (Jerry) who has been a devoted and caring dear family friend for many years.The Drufke Family would like to recognize and thank Hosparus and The Forum Nursing Home facility for their care. A funeral mass will be held at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Ridgway, Illinois. Burial will be in St Joseph's Cemetery in Ridgway, Illinois.
