SAN DIEGO, CA Eddie Canova, 92, formerly of York, died October 21, 2014, of natural causes in San Diego. She was born on August 1, 1922, in Shaw, Miss., a daughter of the late Julia (Muse) and David V. Bishop. Eddie was an active volunteer during the 1970s and 80s at the York County Hospital. For many years she continued her hospital volunteer work in Phoenix, Ariz., where she resided before moving to California in 2005. She spent most of her working career in the medical field. Eddie has been married to the late John P. Canova of York and is survived by two sons, J. Robert Canova of Pittsburgh and David J. Canova of York; daughter, Antonia L. Canova of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her beloved cat, Perry. A memorial will be private.
