RACINE - Earnest Ratliff, 94, passed away on November 8, 2014. His family was by his side. Mr. Ratliff was born in Cotton Plant, Mississippi. He was born on May 27, 1920 to loving parents James and Minnie Pearl (nee: Smith) Ratliff. Mr. Ratliff served in WWII in Normandy, and Central Europe being honorably discharged in 1943. He retired in 1982 with 30 plus years at J.I. Case as a laborer. He was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church and also a Member of American Legion post 546. Earnest is survived by his daughters, Ernestine (David) Johnson, Mary Pearson, Janice Lawrence, Linda Ratliff and sons, Dearrl Morris, Charles Morris of Minn. Granddaughters, Gregina (Haltex) Deacon, Lori (Michael) Coleman (Ohio), Shaquita Pearson, Sandy Lawrence, Benina Lawrence, Janika Ratliff, Laina and Laura Ratliff, Ayzha and Alexandra Morris (Minn), Denise Morris and grandsons Keyonta Ratliff (Ga) and Sergio Ratliff (Wi) Wayne Morris(Minn). He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Nephews, Charles (Tenn.) Dwight (Kansas) and Michael Ratliff (Tenn.) and Alonzo High (Nevada). Nieces Cheryl (Floyd) Hopewell (Pa) and Hattie McKenzie (Ms) Ida Pearl Goodrich (TN). Sister-in-law Bernice Ratliff (TN), dear friend and former wife Rebecca Black and Winnie Morris. Mr. Ratliff has united with his parents and 14 siblings on the other side. The entire family is together once more. Earnests Homegoing service will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. He will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park in a private ceremony with full military honors.
