Duane J. Brunges, 86, of Montrose passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Gracious Living Estates, Montrose. His wife of 54 years, Alice E. (Reynolds) Brunges, predeceased him.He was born on April 16, 1928 in Centermoreland, to the late George F. and Mildred E. (Carey) Brunges. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, James and Colleen Brunges, Montrose; five grandchildren and their spouses, Trish Benware, Michele and Eric Jerauld, Hayden and Melissa Brunges, Jan and Scott Rosenkrans, Brieanna Brunges; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marion Arnold, Elaine and James Miller, Mildred and Willard Tingley; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Betty Brunges; special friend and companion, Evelyn Fike; nine great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.He was predeceased by his daughter, Judy Brunges; grandson, Todd Benware; and two brothers, Lewis and Bob Brunges.Duane enjoyed dancing, hunting and fishing. He was the owner/operator of Brunges Tire, and the Brunges Inn. He and his father also ran a saw mill and pallet company. Duane loved being with his kids and grandkids.Private services were held at the Daniel K Regan Funeral Home, at the family's convenience.
