Douglas Edward RichardsonDouglas Richardson passed away suddenly on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK, at the age of 78. Loving father of Carol Richardson, Jacquie Richardson, Rodney Richardson (Terry), Bernice Clunas (Garry); cherished grandfather of Cora (Taylor), Charnelle (Tristan), Corbin, Cole, Cody and Jamie; great-grandfather of Asher, Haleigha and Jett. He will be missed by his sister Pat Young and brother Ron Richardson (Gloria), as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Doug was predeceased by his parents, and his brothers Bill, Al, and Wayne. Doug was born on April 5, 1938 to Bill and Anna Richardson in Moose Jaw, SK. He grew up attending Westmount Public School and later, while raising a young family, he attended SIAST Kelsey Campus in Saskatoon to become a Power Engineer. He worked at the Plains, Pasqua, and Regina General Hospitals, retiring in 2001. Doug loved sports. He was an avid golfer, and up until the summer of 2015 he golfed 3 to 4 times a week. He coached hockey, as well as Moose Jaw Minor Football for many years. He enjoyed wintering in Mesa, Arizona and made good friends there over the years. Doug was very competitive and loved playing cards and games with his family. He had a sharp wit and a great sense of humour. To celebrate Doug's life, a Memorial Tea will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in The Redpath Lounge at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St. W, Moose Jaw.
