Kornowski, Dorothy M. "Dottie"Dorothy M. "Dottie" Kornowski, 90, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 29, 2017 with close family surrounding her bedside. She was born on February 26, 1926, in Green Bay to George and Virginia (Daul) Loy.Dottie was born and raised in Green Bay. She was a graduate of Green Bay East High School, class of 1944. She worked at Pauly Cheese for a number of years. Dottie met the love of her life, Herbert Kornowski at a church picnic; they courted and were married on June 10, 1950 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Together they raised two daughters who remain in the Green Bay area.Dottie was always very social throughout her whole life. She had a quick wit as well as a knack for conversation. Dottie loved to spend time with family and friends, travel when she could, dining out, bargain shopping and gambling. She will always be remembered for her warm smile, for innocent flirting, and for her fantastic cooking skills by making recipes with rhubarb and mastering the best meatloaf ever.Herbert preceded her in death in 1989. After his death, Dottie lived independently for many years in the family home until 2015, when she moved into assisted living.Dottie is survived by her daughters, Karen (Cal) Ditzman, Susan Kornowski; grandchildren, Chris (Kurt) Baenen, Elise (Brad) Lasecki, Kurt Ditzman (and fiancée, Tanya); great grandchildren, Camryn, Seth, Emma, Logan; and many other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; and her parents; and stepfather, Otto Counard.Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday.
