Dorothy J. SmithMARION: Dorothy J. Smith, age 85, of Marion passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at 2:10 AM in the Kindred Health Care Facility. She was born on November 25, 1931 in Pike County, Kentucky to Finis and Icy (Stocker) Coleman. On may 23, 1946 she married Emory W. Smith Sr. in Pikeville, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on October 15, 1994 in Marion, Ohio. Dorothy was employed as an assembler with the Whirlpool Corporation for 24 years before her retirement in 1994. A Marion resident for the past 60 years, she moved here from Johnsville, Ohio. She is survived by five sons; James H. (Shirley Ann) Smith of Marion, OH., Emory W. (Joy) Smith Jr. of Edison, OH., Wayne K. (Sue Ann) Smith of Cardington, OH., Dennis G. (Linda Sue) Smith of Marion, OH., & Alan E. Smith of Marion, OH., a brother; Frank B. Coleman of Draffin, KY., 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son; Clyde B. Smith, a brother; Virgil B. Coleman, & a sister; Ilene Sweeney. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Sunday, December 18, 2016, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM and on Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Pastor Gary Lyons will conduct the funeral service in the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery.
