Dorothy CotnerMay 15, 1926 - September 24, 2014Dorothy Allen Cotner, 88, of Nampa, died safe in the arms of Jesus, on September 24, 2014. She was born on May 15, 1926 in Greeley, Colorado to David and Stella Allen. She married Tom (CJ) Cotner in 1944 and they lived on a farm in the Wilson Community across the river from Melba until moving to Nampa in 2000. Dorothy helped Tom on the farm when needed from milking cows to tractor work, etc. She also owned and operated Dorothy's Poodle Parlor in Nampa. One of Dorothy's favorite hobbies was making and selling collectible teddy bears called DC Bears.Family was very important to her. She was always fun and funny and always put others first by giving and helping others. She volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House for many years. She loved traveling and stood in 48 states. She was a member of the Nazarene Church and the Melba Friends Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom in 2008; a son Clinton in 1963; her parents; and sisters, Marie and Geraldine.She is survived by a daughter, Judy and husband, Robert Baum of Mountain Home, ID; three sisters in law; one brother in law; and several nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 101 Warm Springs Ave., Boise, Idaho 83712, or to the Melba Friends Church, 301 Randolph Dr., Melba, Idaho 83641, or to .A special thank you is given to the wonderful caregivers at Grace Assisted Living Memory Care in Meridian and Legacy Hospice.A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at 2:00 P.M.
