DOROTHY ANN BONNET, 85 LENA - Dorothy Ann Bonnet, 85, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Presence St. Joseph Nursing Home in Freeport, IL. She was born on November 10, 1928, at the home of her parents, George and Philomena (Putthoff) Wolfram in Warren, IL. She grew up in Nora, IL, attended and graduated from 8th grade at the Nora School. She attended and graduated from Warren High School with the "Class of 1946". She married Robert Bernard Bonnet on April 8, 1947, at St. Ann's Catholic Church at Warren, IL, by Rev. Fr. Frank Miller. They farmed in the Warren, Stockton and Lena area, moving off the farm in 1985. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lena, IL. While at Holy Cross, Stockton, IL, she held offices in the Altar & Rosary Society and also St. Joseph in Lena. She sang in the church choir at St. Ann's, Holy Cross and St. Joseph; former member of Stockton Center Home Extension. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; counted cross-stitch; playing in the Sunday night "500" card club; playing in the Thursday pm Euchre card club; collecting of five family genealogies; traveling with Robert to all "50" states, Canada, Mexico, two times to parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and two cruises. She held offices in Lena Church Women United (when it was active). She assisted at the Lena United Methodist Church and later in the library of the newly built Lena Grade School, as an aid to 1st through 5th graders for homework assistance for 5 years. She volunteered at the blood drives at St. Joseph's Hall, Lena American Legion Hall and the Lena Fire Station for many years. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Robert; 2 daughters, Nancy (Arnold) Bailey of Belvidere, IL and Kathryn Watson (fiancé, Eldon Janssen) of Monroe, WI; 3 sons, David (Sara) Bonnet of Poway, CA, Daniel (Cynthia) Bonnet of Lena, IL, and Edward (Lesley) Bonnet of Muskegon, MI; 11 grandchildren, Dr. Michael (Stacie) Bailey, Stephen (Carolina) Bailey, Scott (Heather) Watson, Tiffany (Derek) Mesch, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Bonnet, Kristina (Kevin) Weaver, Joseph, Matthew, Deanna, Nathan, and Nicholas Bonnet; 6 great-grandchildren, Trinity, Domenek, and Delavan Mesch, Aidan and Ellarie Bailey, and Lincoln and Joclyn Watson; 2 brothers, John Wolfram of Plantation, FL and James (Jean) Wolfram of Rockford, IL; 3 step grandchildren, Samuel, Jacob, Isaac Powell; sister-in-law, Frances Wolfram of Boca Raton, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; parents; granddaughter, Adrian Bonnet; 3 sisters and their spouses, June (Leland) Schwartz, Mary (Leo) Hoy, and Donna (Donald) Morvice; 2 brothers, Gerald Wolfram and Kenneth (Betty) Wolfram; sister-in-law, Patricia Wolfram; one God child and nephew, Thomas Hoy; and one brother-in-law, Arnold Bonnet. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena. A rosary service will take place at 3 p.m. prior to the visitation. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Warren, IL. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lena, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials and Masses may be offered in her name to the C.C.D. programs of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lena, to be used for children who cannot pay the fees to attend.
