Doris Lindsay Everhart, 76, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. Doris was born on Sept. 7, 1940 in Rowan County to the late Fannie Overman and the late Willie Lee W.L. Pepper. She was a singer in a band called Dons Rockers and she was called the Rock &Roll Princess. She enjoyed dancing and most of all raising her children. In addition to her parents, Fannie and W.L., she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lindsay; second husband, Rondall Everhart; and brothers Walter Pepper and Willie Pepper. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Rick Lindsay of Asheville; daughter, Tina Leach (Terry) of Richfield; brothers, Melvin L. Pepper (Barbara) of Salisbury and Wesley Pepper (Carol) of Salisbury; and sisters, Jo Ann Propst of Salisbury, Donna Iddins (Allen) of Morristown, Tenn. and Jill Pepper (Mikie) of Salisbury. She was a loving mother, sister and friend who will be missed by all. Visitation: 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 3760 Stokes Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
