Doris LienJuly 12, 1923 - September 28, 2017McMinnville - Doris Ella Lien was born on July 12, 1923 in McMinnville, Oregon to George C. and Ella E. Pearce Fuller. Doris passed away in McMinnville, Oregon on Sept. 28th at the age of 94 years.Doris grew up on a farm near Amity, Oregon with a sister and a brother. She attended schools in Amity. Doris and Forrest (Slim) Lien were married Oct. 9th in Longview, Washington. They settled in Dayton, Oregon and raised their children. She retired from the Dept of Revenue in Salem and spent many winters in Arizona. She had a bucket list and first took a ride in a glider plane. On her 80th birthday, she rode in a hot air balloon, and finally on her 90th birthday she rode in a small helicopter over the family farm. She loved cooking, counted cross stitch, cross-word puzzles, sewing, knitting, reading, shopping, country music and Arizona winters. Most of all she loved family gatherings. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Morris) Thacker of McMinnville and son Bill (Diane) Lien of Keizer, Oregon, grandchildren, Angie Case, Jennifer Ginsbach, Erika Perez and Travis Lien, 5 great-grandsons and 3 great-great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by husband, Forrest (Slim) Lien, brother Richard Fuller and sister Mary Lou Fuller.Viewing will be at Macy and Sons Thursday, Oct. 5th and Friday Oct 6th from 4:00-7:00.
