Bender, Donald J.Donald J. Bender, 63, Marshfield, died on Sunday, December 18, 2016 in the Emergency Room of Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Daryn Bahn officiating. Burial will take place in Hillside Lutheran Cemetery. The Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:00 am on Friday until service time at Christ Lutheran Church. Donald was born on November 16, 1953 in Winner, South Dakota to Leon and Martha (Kahler) Bender. Don attended Marshfield public schools and graduated from Marshfield Senior High in 1972. After graduation, he worked at Foremost Farms for 30 years until he retired due to ill health. Don was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Don enjoyed his traveling adventures with his mother. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and snowmobiling. Don was a loving and devoted son and brother and had a huge heart and was extremely generous, willing to help family and friends whenever needed. Don was a very strong person who overcame many obstacles in his life with the help of his Lord and Savior. Jesus. One of Dons greatest joys was spending time with his faithful companions Scooby and Buckles. Don is lovingly survived by his mother, Martha Bender, brothers, Larry (Sue) Bender, Garry (Cindy) Bender and his sister, Marilyn (Tim) Guldan. He is further survived by 3 nephews, 4 nieces and many friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon and his brother, Jerry who died in infancy.
