Zunker, Dolores J. "Janie"Dolores J. "Janie" Zunker, 83, Green Bay, formerly a long time resident of Sheboygan passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Allouez Parkside Village. Janie was born on December 8, 1933 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the now late Otto and Dorothy (Fryer) Zunker. She was a graduate of Central High in Sheboygan. Janie was excellent with numbers and was employed as a bank teller at South Bank and retired from Prudential Insurance in Sheboygan. She had many interests throughout the years, but what was most dear to her heart was her friendship with the Amish community in Arthur, Illinois and she frequently traveled to assist them with whatever they needed and formed many lasting relations. Janie also had a passion for photography and found great joy in taking photos. She also liked collecting coins and was very proud of her Beenie Baby Collection. Janie was very faith filled and had a strong devotion to the Catholic Church and was a good and faithful servant. Janie is survived by one sister-in-law Jessie Zunker, Green Bay; 2 nieces Kathleen (Neil) Rechsteiner, Green Bay; Dorothy (Tony) Brice, Green Bay; one nephew David (Debbie) Zunker, Hollandtown; 4 great nieces and 3 great nephews. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by one brother Leonard Zunker.Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Resurrection Catholic Church 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Sheboygan. The family would like to offer a warm note of appreciation to the staffs of Heartland Hospice for all of their loving care and compassion. Also, a special thank you to Allouez Parkside Village for making her stay as comfortable as possible and being there for her family.It is with great sorrow that we have to say goodbye~ but we are comforted in the fact that she is able to celebrate a very special Christmas in Heaven with our Savior.
