On Sunday, September 24, 2017, at the age of 73, Jesus took the hand of Dennis J. Beson and led him home. Dennis loved the Lord and looked forward to seeing His face. He was surrounded by his beloved wife, Sylvia, family, and close friend. Dennis was born on August 19, 1944 to John and Eleanor (Clough) Beson.He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1963. Dennis proudly served our country in the US Army from 1965 to 1967.On October 22, 1977 Dennis married the love of his life, Sylvia Mayo Messing. Together Dennis and Sylvia shared 30 years nurturing and caring for children as co-owners and operators of the Gingerbread House Child Care Center in Oshkosh. Dennis also worked for WMHI for 11 years before retiring at the age of 70. Dennis was a member of Oshkosh Four Square Church and the Oshkosh
Elks Club.He loved riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, his cabin up North, traveling, camping, art and cribbage...especially with his wife. But most of all Dennis loved his family, often saying, "the most important thing in life is family".Dennis is survived by his wife, Sylvia Beson; children; Michael (Bev) Messing, Jimmy (LuAnn) Messing, Kathleen (Peter) Schulze, Cherie-Lynne (Dan) Gabrilska; sixteen grandchildren; Christian (Herbert) Murphy, Adam and Mitchell Messing, Casey (Teri) Schulze, Chancelor Schulze, Meri-Elizabeth (Eduardo) Jimenez Schulze, Katie (Dan) Stinson, Lauren (fiancé, Chris Burgbacher) Koerwitz, MacKenzie and Matthew Messing, Alex (Samantha) Gabrilska, Kaelyn (Addison) Altmann, Samuel, Emerson (fiance Mai Thao), Parker and Hayden Gabrilska; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother, John Beson; nephew, Tom Beson; niece, Tammie Frost; great-nephew, Colin; dear cousins and friends, and childhood friend Jim Troxel. Brothers-in-law; Walter (Mary Ellen) and William (Nancy) Mayo, Nate and Doug Warner, sisters-in-law, Winnie (Larry) McPeake and Patti Windle along with many other nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and in-laws.Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 4:00p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh with Pastor Ben Peterson officiating, Oshkosh Elks Club 292 will be providing a special service. Burial will be Monday, October 2, 2017 at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services. Special thanks to Affinity Hospice (especially his nurse Ryan), Doctor Hearley, Doctor Abbi, and the Wachtel Cancer Center, Oshkosh.In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
