David Warren VanceNEWARK: A funeral service for David Vance will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1pm at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH, 43055. Burial will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery. Family will greet guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. David, age 82, of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family. David was born on October 1, 1934 to the late Fred and Alphia (Mullinex) Vance in Whitmer, WV. David loved to work. Over the years, he worked at Bowerston Shale Co, Allied Van Lines, and Hanby Farms. David retired from Matlock Inc and from Universal Veneers. In his free time, David enjoyed stock car racing, from racing the cars in his youth to cheering on the next generation. He also enjoyed gardening and yard work. David is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Virginia (Henderson) Vance. He also leaves behind his sons, Gary (Mary) Vance and Brad Vance; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Nan) Vance; Sisters-in-law, Mary Vance and Patty Skeese; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his son, Stevie Vance; grandson, Stephen Vance; sister, Shirley Vance; and brother, William Vance.The family would like to thank Hospice of Central Ohio for all their care and compassion.
