FORT WAYNE — David Paul Houghton, 80, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 at Hamilton Trace Nursing Home in Fishers. He was born on Nov. 22, 1935 in Auburn to the late Paul D. and Magdalene G. (Conner) Houghton. He married Barbara Jean (Larimore) Houghton on Sept. 28, 1957 in Ft. Wayne and she preceded him in death on April 16, 2012. Surviving are son, David (Cherie) Houghton II of Lima, Ohio; daughters, Cindy (Gary) Cooper of Cohutta, Georgia and Janice Houghton of Indianapolis; grandson, Trace Houghton; sister, Nanci (Raymond) Carnahan of Ft. Wayne and sister-in-law, Betty Houghton of Auburn. He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Paul Houghton, Jr.; a brother, James Douglas Houghton and a sister, Miriam Dawn Houghton. He worked as the Business Manager for Don Ayers Pontiac in Fort Wayne for 17 years. He was a member of the Auburn Nazarene Church and Church of God in Fort Wayne. He owned the Little Hitching Post along with his wife for 19 years. He and his wife were also the owners of Mr. JJ, which was the Indianapolis Colts Mascot. The calling will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville. Service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn. Memorials can be made to Rock Steady Boxing Program, 6847 Hillside Court Indianapolis, IN 46250.
