David George Shannon, age 68, died in his sleep on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at his home in Tucson, Ariz. He was born on April 7, 1948, in Bradford, Pa., to the late Roy and Marjorie Shannon. Dave graduated from Harbor Creek High School in 1966 and attended college at University of Pittsburgh. Dave was a remarkable man in presence and in grace, always ready to lend a hand. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working on projects around the house. Dave and his wife, Elaine, lived in Harborcreek for most of their lives, moving back to Tucson this fall to retire. They celebrated their 47th anniversary September 13th. Dave retired from the General Electric Co. in Erie as a Production Manager with 39 years of service. He also worked for General Electric in Gillette, Wyo. and Tucson, Ariz., as a Service Manager. Dave was a past member and volunteer at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Dave is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Elaine; his son, Scott and wife Gail of Pueblo, Colorado; his daughter, Kristine and husband Dave Sunda of Winston-Salem, N.C.; his brother, Mike and his wife Audrey of Frewsburg, N.Y.; five sisters: Barb and her husband Steve Miller of Clarksville, Ohio, Kathy and husband Ray Buszek of Lebanon, Ohio, Patty and husband John McAnulty, Suzie and husband Tom Duda and Mary Beth and husband Bob Rzodkiewicz, all of Harborcreek; and brother-in-law, Gary Lawrence and wife Betsy of Concord, Calif. Dave has seven beloved grandchildren: Will and Andy Shannon, Leyna, Rachel and Nicholas Giannelli, and Garrett and Mallory Sunda; 21 nieces and nephews; and 21 great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. Family and friends may call at the Dusckas-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 5151 Buffalo Rd.
