Murray, David Ernest David Murray, 82, of Phoenix, AZ passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Phoenix Baptist Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 20, 1934 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to Olive and Leslie Murray. He is survived by his loving wife Nell (63 years); son Stanley; daughters Susan, Donna, and Barbara; along with 7 grand and 3 great-grandchildren. Educated in Canada, he worked initially with Canadian Pacific Railway, then the Montreal Stock Exchange before moving family to Phoenix and assuming an ops position with TWA Airlines in 1964. In 1974, he worked and created close friendships with Merrill Lynch as a wire-room analyst until his retirement in 1997. His gift was "listening and hearing" resulted in an amazing number of friends from all walks of life. The mark of a true humanitarian is "caring" - when one walked away from a conversation with Dave - he knew more about "you" than you did about him; because he truly cared about every person and interaction. A skilled musician, Dave enjoyed listening and performing both classical and ragtime music especially works by Scott Joplin; and indulged in watching Sean Connery as "007"! His life was definitely "Shaken....Not stirred" because he approached life with a unique confidence + calm, peaceful yet "sincere-classy" gracious way that influenced all around him. Services will be held at 2:30pm Saturday, February 25, 2017 at All-Saints Episcopal Church, 6300 N Central Ave, Phoenix 85012, with an informal gathering at the church immediately afterward. Memorial contributions are asked to be made on behalf of Dave Murray to the Arizona Humane Society at
