Pahl, DarrellDarrell Pahl, a lifelong resident of Greenleaf, passed away Sunday afternoon March 26, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by family after a long courageous fight with multiple health challenges.Darrell was born on April 11, 1943, the oldest of the six children of Ervin and Sylvia (Schendel) Pahl. He graduated from Wrightstown High School. Darrell married Jane Coenen on April 12, 1969 at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute.Husband, Dad, "Big D", "Stogie" ... no matter what name you knew him by, Darrell will be remembered as a gentle soul, with an eagerness to help, and a "can do" attitude. Some remember his early years... running around all night, parties in the woods, and football in high school. Some remember the years in the Skelley Service Station, fixing every machine ever brought to him, and creating new contraptions. Others remember watching him play softball as a young man... maybe remembering how he played on Aerts Oilers until all his teammates were half his age. Those of us lucky enough to be close will remember his years of courage, overcoming impossible odds, and coming back strong. Showing us how to live strong and positive in the face of daily challenges. Darrell and Jane faced every day together, as a team.Darrell will be forever loved by his wife, Jane; son, Jim (Diana); grandchildren, Mackenzie, Isabella, and Owen Pahl of Darboy; and brothers and sisters, Gary (Judith) Pahl of Greenleaf, Darlene Pahl of Greenleaf, Gail (Ken) Hedrich of Brillion, Dale Pahl of Greenleaf, Carol (Steve) Servais of Denmark. In addition to his parents Darrell was preceded in death by a son, Robert Joseph; a brother; and his father and mother-in-law, Jerome and Eunice Coenen.Friends may celebrate Darrell's life before the funeral mass on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at St. Clare Church (St. Paul site) 437 Main St. in Wrightstown.
