Daniel J. Gafgen Daniel J. Gafgen, age 68, of Hilton Head Island, SC died peacefully Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Dan was born on May 5, 1948 in Trenton, NJ, the son of the late Daniel K. Gafgen and Ruth Pierce Gafgen. Dan was a devoted husband to his late wife Marty Gafgen and a beloved father to his son Brandon and daughter Betsy. Dan lived all over the world but called Hilton Head Island his home for over twenty-five years and spent much of his time serving the local community. He is survived by his son, Brandon Gafgen (Jessica); his daughter, Betsy Butler (Brad); his brother, Pierce Gafgen (Jennifer); his niece Christie-Ann Gafgen, and his granddaughter, Amelia Butler. A visitation with the family will be held at Keith Funeral Home, 63 Arrow Road, Hilton Head, South Carolina, 29928 on Saturday, June 18, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the funeral home will collect donations on behalf of the family that will be used to purchase a bench in Hilton Head Plantation in memory of Dan. www.Keithfuneral.com.
