Dana R. SprankelZanesville: Dana R. Sprankel, 92, of Zanesville, died Thur. Oct. 26, 2017 at his home. He was born on Sept. 2, 1925 in South Zanesville, a son of the late John S. and Vera (Moody) Sprankel. He worked at Line Material/McGraw Edison/Cooper Inc. before retiring in 1987 after 42 years of service. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the European 8th Traffic control group. He was a past Master of the Lodge of Amity #5, Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Grotto. Dana married Lois (Howe) on April 14, 1951. They had three sons Tom (Judy) Sprankel of Zanesville, Jerry (Pam) Sprankel of Newark, and Jack (Regina) Sprankel of Zanesville, and one daughter Jana (Kenny) Fulks of Nashport. Nine grandchildren Shawn Sprankel, Shane Sprankel, Kaylea (TJ) Kaiser, Shannon (Roy) Reynolds, Alaina (Doug) Smith, Alan Fulks, Nathan Sprankel, Andrea Sprankel, and Devin Sprankel. Five great-grandchildren Zane and Dillon Atwood, Ameiah Fulks, Sara and Andrew Kaiser. Two brothers Kermit Sprankel and Richard Sprankel. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sisters Manila and Irma, and brothers Lemert, Bernard, and Adrian, grandchildren Andrew and Michael Sprankel. Oct. 29, 2017 at WILLIAM THOMPSON & SON FUNERAL HOME 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where Lodge of Amity #5 will hold Masonic services at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Mon. Oct. 30, 2017 at the funeral home with Dr. Herbert Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park where Zanesville VFW Post #1058 and American Legion Post #29 will conduct military honors.
